Then you are warmly welcome to apply for the position of support person at the Relationship Violence Center in Södertälje – a place where commitment, collaboration, and care are at the center.

With us, social workers, therapists, and a group leader work together – a total of 11 people with different backgrounds, experiences, and competencies. Together, we form a safe and knowledgeable team that supports, challenges, and uplifts each other. We share a strong drive: to create conditions for people to live a life free from violence.

The Relationship Violence Center is part of the Adult Support unit, where budget and debt advisors, eviction preventers, and outreach workers also operate. Together, we create comprehensive solutions for our citizens.
 

Your tasks

We are looking for an engaged, empathetic, and pedagogical person who wants to make a difference for individuals who have been subjected to violence in close relationships. Your work is a help to self-help, and the goal is for the person you support to become independent.

You will work with:
- providing individual support to individuals who have been subjected to violence in close relationships
- being a listening and supportive conversation partner
- offering practical support such as advice on how to seek housing and employment
- being a support in contact with other units within social services and other authorities such as LSS, the Social Insurance Agency, the Employment Agency, the Migration Agency, and the Tax Agency, etc.
- participating in collaboration meetings as needed
- being a support in interpreting and filling out forms, informing about which benefits one is entitled to apply for
- informing about how to obtain a bank account, bank ID, how to pay bills, etc.
- documenting and following up on interventions according to the organization's routines in Combine
- being able to answer our reception phone if needed
 

Who are you?

Personal qualities:
- You can work independently and are flexible
- You have experience working with individuals in vulnerable life situations, preferably within social work
- You are structured
- You have a good ability to build trust and relationships
- You are resilient, empathetic, and solution-oriented

Requirements:
- A degree in social work or equivalent as assessed by the employer,
- Good knowledge of Södertälje, the community at large, and how it functions, as well as the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- Good knowledge of the target group
- Good computer skills
- Holds a valid B driver's license

Meritorious:
- You should have good knowledge of regulations for various authorities.
- You should have experience working with individuals who are subjected to violence in close relationships
- You should be able to speak Arabic and/or Syriac

We offer you

- A wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK per year
- Annual working hours
- The work is primarily scheduled during daytime hours Monday to Friday 8-17, but evening shifts and weekends may occur based on the needs of our preventive work in meeting citizens when they can.
